Mariana C. Bernardes is an Instructor in Radiology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Harvard Medical School. She is specialized in medical robotics and her research is focused on robot-assisted minimally invasive procedures, particularly in laparoscopy and image-guided percutaneous interventions. Before joining the BWH, she received a B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Brasilia, and a Ph.D in Automation and Microelectronic Systems from University of Montpellier. She was an Assistant Professor at the University of Brasilia from 2015 to 2021, where she co-founded the Laboratory for Testing of Electromedical Devices and Systems (LENSE).
