Junichi Tokuda is a research scientist at the Department of Radiology, Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), Boston, MA, and a member of Surgical Planning Laboratory (SPL), and National Center for Image Guided Therapy (NCIGT). He is specialized in the development and clinical translation of novel software and robotics technologies for image-guided interventions. At BWH, he works with his clinical collaborators primarily on MRI-guided interventions of pelvic and abdominal organs. As a Principal Investigator, he is leading several research projects which are funded by the National Institutes of Health and industry. Before he joined the BWH in 2007, he received undergraduate and graduate training at the University of Tokyo, Japan, and obtained a B.S. in Engineering and M.S. and Ph.D. in Information and Science and Technology. He is currently an Associate Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School.
